The challenge within this project was to ensure the Data Room would be air-tight for the equipment and storage use. Part of the works would be Project Managed using SPF contractors but specific contractors such as Fire Suppression would also be part of the controlled management procedure, therefore this was new to SPF Projects Ltd. Delivering the project to strict timescales would also be a challenge and this needed to meet the time frame provided by the client.
Scope of Works and Solution
SPF Projects were provided a contract to supply, deliver and install works for the Data Centre Fit Out, First Floor Morgan House based in Sheffield. Work included partition stud walls, stairwell stud walls, plasterboard wall lining, suspended ceilings, raised access floor within the 2 rooms and double skin steel powder coated doors fitted. Decoration, flooring, security shutters and industrial mezzanine goods lift were also part of this project.
The solution would need to ensure the project was managed carefully and monitored to meet the set timescale. The design and technical specification would require expertise within the field to provide a full project solution for the Data Management suite to be installed and protected.
The project went as planned and SPF Projects were responsible for the full fit out of the data centre works, along with managing external subcontractors in additional to their workload. Completing the contract on time was a major key factor for the project and once again, SPF Project reached the client’s expectations for the completion date along with delivering a quality service throughout.
We asked SPF Projects to fit out our 1st floor mezzanine area, to form a new data suite for one of our clients. This was a multi-disciplined project which entailed partition walls, ceilings, floors, joinery and electrical works.
It was important that budgets and timescales were met within this particular project, and we were delighted when SPF Projects met these key outcomes. SPF Projects were also responsible for the project management from start to finish, which went seamlessly. Any issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently which gave us peace of mind for minimum disruption to the project.
We also asked SPF Projects to project manage the air conditioning / cooling system and fire suppression system within the data suite project and these were both coordinated well. Again, minimum disruption and everything came together to deliver the final project to a high standard.
Overall, the project went to plan, excellent communication and we would not have any hesitation in using SPF Projects in the future or recommending them to other businesses.
